Kunstdruck Vase With Cross Pattern

Eleni Psyllaki, the artist of Studio Paradissi, lives on the island of Crete, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea. She was also born there and her Greek heritage has been a great source of inspiration for her work as an artist.
The artworks she creates are a balanced mix of constructivism, minimalism and the folklore that surrounds Byzantine culture. Typically, her color palette consists of earthy tones, desaturated colors and deep blacks. "I'm working on a new series of works on paper that include patterns and bolder contrasts, as well as some digital works inspired by more minimalist motifs," Eleni shares.
For Eleni, the creative process involves a lot of preliminary drawings and creating idea boards. Often it is the shape of a vessel that appears on the canvas: "A vessel is an archetypal shape that has acted as a metaphor for being throughout history," says Eleni. She goes on to say that she is deeply inspired by the history and symbolism of the vessel motif, which is also connected to her fascination with architecture and Byzantine art.
